Matt's Picks (AVFC VS WHU)

Hello Reader.

Well, there isn't much to tell you. 0-0...

Usually this is a tough game where both goalies make incredible saves, but alas only Green showed off this aspect of the game, so it was kind of a disappointment.

  1. Young sees Green off his line and attempts to chip the 29 year and 364 day old keeper, but he pulled of a magical save.
  2. Agbonlahor gets a volley come cross from Downing. He chests it down and turns around less than 5 meters away. green saves in the top corner.

In Midfield, Petrov dominated proceedings. Good tackles and some solid distributing skills.

At one point, Villa did manage to put the ball in the net, but Carew was correctly adjudged offside.

All in all it was a scrappy game filled with tough-tackles and hopeless long balls.

I'd give it a 5/10 at best.

On another note, thanks for the followings guys. Appreciate it.

Matts Picks(EFC VS MCFC)

Hello Reader.

This is the first blog review! Sweet deal.

This is the game between Manchester City and Everton.

The in form Manchester City traveled to Everton, who's most recent performance was against Arsenal which ended in a two-all draw. The men who are pulling Everton's strings at the moment are:

The huge Belgian international Maroune Fellaini

and the South African play maker Steven Pienaar.

Manchester City's hit man Carlos Tevez hit 3 goals last game and was behind most play in the 4-1 Demolition of Blackburn.

The Game:

Everton were 100% Dominant. Mancini has found out how tricky and unpredictable league this is. Carlos Tevez was nowhere. I honestly only saw him every 10 odd minutes, Bellamy was like an angry teenager, red faced and swearing, talking the talk but hardly walking the walk.
But enough about the bad bits.

Everton were unstoppable. Steven Pienaar in golden form. Incredible timing, unbelievable accuracy and what a stunning free kick!! Fellaini... another league. Nobody on earth could get even remotely close to stopping the 1.94m giant.
Non-stop tackling, pin-point passing, cracking shots. What more can you ask for?

Oh, and about the penalty... Even though eyebrows were raised about the decision, Everton hit the woodwork at least twice in the second half, so Manchester City should count their lucky stars!

Man Of The Match:

Fellaini, hands down. Although Pienaar did score the first goal to get Everton in the swing of things, but on that day, for that 90 minutes, he played one of the best holding midfielder performance I have ever witnessed
Fellaini is without a doubt one of the youngsters that will be an icon later on in his career.

An overall outstanding performance.

Thanks for reading!

Matt:)

Jared's Tarot (EFC - MCFC)

Hello Reader,

You're privileged enough to be witnessing the first post of FFT Global's sports blog.
Congrats :)

Getting right down to it, let's take a look at the track record of this fixture.

The Facts

Everton and Man City are actually astoundingly closely matched when you look at the entire history of the fixture.
In fact, they have the exact same amount of goals scored at their respective homes: 141.

Let's take a look at the last 6 fixtures these clubs have had against each other:

2008/2009

Everton
1 - 2
Manchester City

2008/2009

Manchester City
0 - 1
Everton

2007/2008

Manchester City
0 - 2
Everton

2007/2008

Everton
1 - 0
Manchester City

2006/2007

Manchester City
2 - 1
Everton

2006/2007

Everton
1 - 1
Manchester City

2005/2006

Everton
1 - 0
Manchester City

So it looks like Everton may very well have this in the bag right? Wrong.
Let's check out the past few fixtures Man City have had.

Manchester City
2 - 0
Stoke City
Wolves
0 - 3
Manchester City
Middlesbrough
0 - 1
Manchester City
Manchester City
4 - 1
Blackburn

What has sparked Man City's recent roll? Roberto Mancini.
He's recently replaced Mark Hughes as manager of the club.
Since then, the club has only conceded one goal, and scored 10.

Has Mancini got what it takes to overcome their major rival, Everton?
That remains to be seen.

People to watch?

Roberto Mancini
The savior

Carlos Tevez The man on form (Man City)

Landon Donovan The débutante (Everton)

Patrick Vieira The débutante (Man City)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Tarot

My personal opinion is that Manchester City will walk away with this one, simply because their current form is undeniable. Mancini has sparked something within the club that has layed dorment for a very long time.

His methods coupled with the club's current budget can only equal good things for City.
It will definitely not be a walk in the park for either club. Everton has also showed good form recently, as well as being generally a step ahead of City in previous fixtures.

I highly doubt City will walk away from this one with a clean sheet.

Final Prediction?

Everton 1 - 2 Manchester City
